PNP honors 17 more cops for Outstanding Accomplishments

PNP Chief, “CODE-P” Police Director General Alan L Purisima, today presented awards to 17 more police officers cited for significant accomplishments in recent law enforcement and public safety operations in Zamboanga, Eastern Visayas and Metro Manila.

Purisima, awarded the PNP Medal of Merit (Medalya ng Kagalingan) to four (4) rookie members of an all-female police team that engaged armed robbers in an encounter on March 30 at a shopping mall in Pasay City.

PO1 Juliet Macababbad, PO1 Delia Langpawen, PO1 Marcelina Bantiyag, and PO1 Maricel Rueco were cited for their courage and gallantry in action as first responders in the robbery incident perpetrated by members on the notorious “Martilyo Gang”.
Other awardees were:

PCSupt Sonny David (PNP Special Service Medal) – for his invaluable service in the field of police operations while in position of major responsibility as PNP contingent in PRO 8 during the onslaught of super typhoon Yolanda.

PCSupt Asher Dolina (PNP Special Service Medal) – for his invaluable service in the field of police operations as Commander of sub-group Palo in PRO 8 during the onslaught of super typhoon Yolanda. 

PSSupt Eric Serafin Reyes, PSSupt Marcelo  Morales, PCInsp Israel Mori, PSInsp Ronald Allan Tolosa and PSInsp Eugenio Mallillin (PNP Special Service Medal) – for their invaluable service in the field of police operations while in position of major responsibility as PNP contingent in PRO 8 during the onslaught of super typhoon Yolanda. 

SPO1 Rogelio Manaois, SPO1 Joey San Esteban, and PO2 Mark Joseph Paet (PNP Efficiency Medal) – for their eminently meritorious and invaluable service rendered as member of the PNP contingent in PRO 8 during the onslaught of super typhoon Yolanda. 

PSSupt Jose Malayo, PCInsp Nazier Halil, and PSInsp Elmer Solon (PNP Heroism Medal) – for their act of heroism during the initial and decisive phase in Zamboanga brought by MNLF-Misuari faction on September 9, 2013. 

Last week, the President of the Republic of the Philippines, His Excellency Benigno S. Aquino III, personally led the awarding ceremony in Camp Crame, Quezon City dubbed as “Araw ng Parangal sa Pulis”, that was especially made for deserving PNP personnel who exemplified notable accomplishments during the Zamboanga Incident, Earthquake in Bohol, Yolanda devastation and other significant deeds during the term of the current PNP Chief, Police Director General Alan La Madrid Purisima.(PNP-PIO)
