Roxas to Bukidnon Local Execs, Constituents: Let's fight our battle togetherJune 11, 2015

Secretary of the Interior and Local Government Mar Roxas encouraged the local executives in Bukidnon including the governor and 20 municipal mayors to join together in fighting corruption, poverty, and criminality for the future of the province.

Roxas issued this statement in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, on Wednesday (June 10) during the turnover ceremony of the 20 brand new police patrol jeeps to their respective beneficiaries.

During the visit, Roxas met with local officials led by Bukidnon Gov. Jose Ma. Zubiri and League of Municipalities of the Philippines president Mayor Osmundo dela Rosa of the municipality of Malitbog, Bukidnon.

Roxas said as we celebrate the country's independence on June 12, we will continue to fight our own battle with corruption, poverty, and criminality.

"Even after succeeding in the fight for independence, we still continue to fight our battle against hunger and hopelessness.

He also stressed the importance of these patrol jeep in the province of Bukidnon in keeping the peace and order situation in northern Mindanao's food basket.

He said through these patrol jeeps, the province can address the problems in peace and order as well as the delivery of necessities during times of disasters and saving the lives of people affected by calamities.

Twenty patrol jeeps were turned over to the mayors and representatives of 20 municipalities in Bukidnon.

The brand new police patrol jeeps were distributed to the municipality of Baungon, Cabanglasan, Damulog, Dangcagan, Don Carlos, Impasug-ong, Kadingilan, Kalilangan, Kibawe, Kitaotao, Lantapan, Libona, Malitbog, Manolo Fortich, Maramag, Pangantucan, Quezon, San Fernando, Sumilao, and Talakag.

"Our fight will continue, together we will fight our battle," Roxas said.
