The local government of Quezon City backs the war on drugs being waged by the Philippine National Police. Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista assured PNP Chief, Director General Ronald M Dela Rosa of the full support of the QC Government and City Council to the PNP anti-drug campaign Project Double Barrel Reloaded which resumed on Monday after a month long suspension since January.
Bautista, who is also Chairman of the Metro Manila Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC), publicly announced his unqualified support to the PNP anti-drug campaign as he formally turned over 50 brand new police patrol cars donated by City Hall to the Quezon City Police District.
QCPD District Director, Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar received the donation of 50 brand new Toyota Vios Sedans during ceremonies at Camp Karingal, Quezon City.
The mobile patrol units are fully-equipped with communication, global positioning system (GPS), and dashboard camera units to improve police patrol coverage in different areas of Quezon City.
During the same ceremony, Mayor Bautista also announced more appropriations for 1,000 body armor vests, 500 pistols and 150 motorcycles for the QCPD to enhance the fighting capability and mobility of its personnel in police operations.
For his part, Dela Rosa expressed the gratitude of the PNP to the QC government for being responsive to the needs of the local police force even as he assured the mayor of the PNP‘s continued service to the people of Quezon City.
The Chief PNP also lauded the QC government for supporting the requirements of QCPD for mission-essential equipment to move, shoot, communicate and investigate.
