Uzi, more high powered guns seized in Pampanga
Continuous anti-loose firearms campaign of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Central Luzon have resulted in the confiscation of an Uzi machine pistol and other high powered firearms in a raid in Apalit, Pampanga yesterday.
In his report to CIDG chief, Police Director Samuel D Pagdilao Jr., Region 3 CIDG chief, Police Senior Superintendent Elmo Francis Sarona said joint operatives of Pampanga CIDG led by PCI Leoncio L. Senense, RID-PRO3 and members of RSOTG Pampanga police raided the house of RICARDO Bonifacio of Brgy. Sampaloc, Apalit, Pampanga for violation of RA 8294.
Sarona said around 5:50 AM yesterday the operatives implemented a search warrant issued by Executive Judge Angelo Perez of Br. 27, RTC, Cabnatuan City against Bonifacio that resulted in the confiscation of a cal. 30 rifle carbine; a cal. 38 rifle; a cal 9mm Machine Pistol (uzi); 6 magazines for cal 9mm; 5 magazine for cal 30 rifle; and hundreds of rounds of ammunition for cal. 9mm and 45 caliber, all without license.
Sarona said that recent success on the CIDG’s drive against loose firearms is in line with the efforts of the Philippine National Police to secure the May 2013 midterm elections.
He added that the raid in Apalit was part of the aggressive anti-loose firearms campaign of the CIDG in Pampanga which is included in the poll watchlist of areas.
Last weekend raid in Arayat, Pampanga have seized two baby Armalite rifles, a Caliber .45 Commodore; a 12 gauge shotgun (optima); another Caliber 45 pistol, a caliber 22 long rifle and hundreds of rounds of ammunitions for Armalite rifle.
