Security for feast of Black Nazarene all set
CAMP ALAGAR, Jan. 6 – Camp Alagar official assured the public that all system go as far as security for the Feast of the Black Nazarene on January 8 and 9 after a security coordinating conference was held in Northern Mindanao Police Regional Office, January 5.
Police regional director PCSupt Agripino Javier said that security measures are all set for the Feast of the Black Nazarene in coordination with the city government of Cagayan de Oro and other law enforcement agencies in the region.
"We will be mobilizing over 800 PNP personnel in key areas and public assistance centers to provide security to the two-day religious activity," PCSupt Javier said.
The Philippine National Police (PNP), together with its counterpart from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine Coast Guard and partners from the City Government of Cagayan de Oro and other sectors will provide the needed security coverage.
"All possible counter-measures to eliminate reported threats to public safety are being undertaken by joint security forces. Our EOD-K9 teams from the PNP, AFP and Philippine Coast Guard will be utilized. Covert security and intelligence operations were already stepped up," Northern Mindanao regional spokesperson PSupt Surki Sereñas said.
