DSWD supports #BidaAngHanda for disaster preparedness

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) supports the campaign #BidaAngHanda of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) as they enjoin the public to participate in the 2nd National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) today at 2:00pm.

DSWD will be conducting its own drill in support of the NSED which is timely as the country has recently experienced series of earthquakes ranging from magnitude 3 to magnitude 7.

DSWD Secretary Judy M. Taguiwalo said, “Napapanahon ang kampanyang #BidaAngHanda, hindi lang para sa lindol kung hindi para sa anumang sakuna (The campaign is very timely and appropriate for all types of disasters). Although we cannot really ultimately prepare for the big one, it pays to have disaster preparedness and response measures in place.”

Thus, the Secretary invites the public to participate in the NSED wherever they may be on June 29, 2:00pm to practice the duck, cover, and hold action. ###
