He also lauded the department’s effective facilitation of employment, as well as its strict implementation of labor standards and social protection, which he said, is “proven to be good” with a strong commitment to advance the betterment of the working population.
The President also conveyed to the department, to let its 85th-anniversary commemoration serve as a challenge to continue upholding excellence in performing their duties in building an efficient, honest, and dependable government.
“Now, more than ever, we need more dedicated civil servants like you as we improve not only our bureaucracy but also the plight of our kababayans who aspire for dignified, comfortable, and prosperous lives.” he said.
President Duterte reassured that his administration would remain supportive of DOLE’s reform programs and initiative for its employees, while looking after the growth and welfare of the Filipino workers here and abroad.
“As you embark on a new chapter in the DOLE’s history, may you continue to implement policies that will protect our workers—particularly the vulnerable ones—and strengthen your partnerships with other stakeholders towards the realization of our sustainable development goals,” he noted.
“Let us all look forward in the next 85 years with optimism, that by investing in our most vital asset — our citizenry — we can build a future where every Filipino will have a decent and productive life, ” he continued.### PND
