President Duterte promises quick release of fund for Bicol’s rehabilitation

LEGAZPI CITY—President Rodrigo Roa Duterte arrived here on Thursday to assess the damage of Typhoon Tisoy and instructed local government units (LGUs) to submit their reports to the national government for the immediate release of money for the relief and rehabilitation efforts in affected areas.

“Parating lang ninyo ‘yung report then we will take over and I will advise you accordingly kung kailan dadating ang pera,” President Duterte said during the situation briefing on the effects of Typhoon Tisoy in Bicol region at the Legazpi Convention Center.

“It would be good to — for the entire government agencies who are here, beginning from DSWD (Department of Social Welfare and Development) ends up with the Department of Trade to submit your report immediately so that they can pass it on to the proper agency concerned,” the President said.

Money is the only problem of the LGUs when calamities hit their areas, according to the President.
