Bongbong Marcos and family to spend Christmas 2023 in Malacañang
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos and his family will spend Christmas again in Malacañang, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said Friday.
“He will be in Manila lang daw po (He will just be in Manila),” PCO Assistant Secretary Rowena Hidalgo told reporters through Viber.
It is the second time Marcos and his family will celebrate Christmas in Malacañang since he assumed the presidency on June 30, 2022.
Marcos said earlier that the public is welcome to visit the Palace grounds, which were opened for the annual “Tara sa Palasyo” festivities.
“Merry Christmas po sa inyong lahat. Muli ngayong Pasko ay binuksan natin ulit ang Palasyo para sa inyong lahat,” Marcos wrote on his Facebook page on Friday.
(Merry Christmas to everyone. Once again, this Christmas, we have opened the Palace for all of you.)
“Open house po kami ngayon. Habang may Simbang Gabi open house po ang Palasyo,” he added.
(We are open house today. During the Simbang Gabi, the Palace is open house.)
He also said the public may attend the Misa de Gallo or “Simbang Gabi” held in the area, as well as enjoy traditional Filipino Christmas eats like bibingka or rice cake and puto bungbong or purple rice cake, which Marcos claimed were his specialties.
