DILG chief appeals for unity from newly elected officials
MANILA, Philippines — Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla appealed for unity from newly elected officials.
This was announced in a statement from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) on Thursday, following the agency’s launch of its training program for novice local government executives, the enhanced Newly Elected Officials Performing Leadership for Uplifting Service (NEO PLUS).

“Let’s all be one — one for your province, one for your region, one for our country, one for our President,” Remulla said.
“We are entrusted by the people, and it is a mandate. That mandate carries not only the capacity to govern, but also the trust, hope, and confidence that you will make their lives better,” he added.
The DILG’s training program aims to guide local government officials through the leadership transition process and help them set priorities for their first 100 days in office.
Officials who won in the 2025 midterm elections officially began their terms on June 30. /jpv
